She woke to pain. Every muscle in her body felt like led, and the bump on the back of her head throbbed where she’d hit it off the side of the pavement. But apart from the soreness, everything seemed to be working ok. She’d been lucky. Too lucky. She was still here. For the first time in months the sun beamed through the window, longing for her to get up despite the pain. The winter had come and gone. Birds were singing, and the air was calm and welcoming. Maybe, just maybe she thought to herself .... , maybe it wasn’t over. She smiled to herself – if only slightly. Maybe, just maybe ...the best was yet to come. *****************************************************************
